Under the direction of prominent MED (Middle Eastern dance) researcher and instructor, Shaheena, Bellydance Central presents top quality Instruction, professional Performances and a wide variety of Event showcases and workshops.

July 11: Aida Nour in Brisbane
Shaheena and Nanda are recently home from the Brisbane Winter Warmup, this year featuring the artist and master teacher Madame Aida Nour. 4 days of intensive technique and choreography workshops had the participants sore and tired but exhilarated. The highlight of the festival this year was the Siwa Bedouin and the ever elegant Muwashahat.
On the sunday night concert Perth was well represented by Michelle of the Rosehips troupe doing a vibrant and energetic drum, Shaheena wowing the audience with her Turkish Roman while Nanda introduced the east coast to the Mystique Vintage Bellydance signature choreography ‘Hobak ala Feyn’ which received a “Bravo” from Aida Nour.
Keep an eye out for next year's special program with Dr Mo Gedawi which will also include an extra 4 days of teacher training. Certainly not one to miss... to keep up to date keep checking in at our Events page or visit the Winter Warmup site to register.

June 18: WAMED Wrap Up
The WAMED (Western Australian Middle Eastern Dance) festival is over for another year. This one was even more intensive and packed with fun and exciting things to see and do, leaving all of us very happy but exhausted at the end of the four day stretch.
The Mystique Dance Company debuted their new "Vintage Bellydance" style to a great crowd on the saturday night 'Reflections' gala concert, performing along side international stars Nour and husband Yasser from Egypt and Morocco from New York.
