Angie (aka Shaheena)
Performer, Teacher (Dip Ed) and Director
With over 20 years experience and study in the dances of the Near,
Far and Mid East with leading Australian and International teachers
I have enjoyed 16 years as a national and international performer,
teacher and director of popular Middle Eastern dance productions.
Yasmin, the Egyptian dance artiste who pioneered Bellydance in
Western Australia was my first teacher and mentor and through
her I gained a great love and passion for this art.
Convinced of the necessity in learning about a dance and culture
from its source, I have attained tuition with a variety of international
dance masters through workshops, classes and intensive courses
in Australia, Egypt and Turkey. I maintain high standards of safe
dance practice with techniques gained from 10 years attendance
at Winter Warm Up sessions with Michael Daglish, a foremost Sports
Physiotherapist and educator.
I have incorporated my experiences and training to structure
The Mystique Academy with its unique dance programs which are
taught in Perth and throughout Western Australia and Asia.
As the director of the Mystique Dance Academy my focus is to
continue as a student of the dance art. Through research and workshops,
I will continue to promote and seek excellence in both teaching
and performance.
